Joyness.

Joy.
Happiness.

No bedfellows much less one flesh.

Stadiums of Hillsong filled with happy celebration.
Hands raised, O Happy Day.
Jump down, turn around;
To Jesus I pray.

The monotonous chant of “world without end,”
echoing in chambers,
off marble walls;
wooden pews.

Joy has been replaced,
with a feeling.
Replaced with something…
…perhaps a call to happiness.

From black hooded robes,
and bowing reverence;
To designer jeans,
and waving hands.

Digital photos of statues and relics and symbols;
Emotional suitcases filled with experiences of God.

Happiness is irrelevant.

Happy;
from happening.
Happiness is found,
in what is happening.

Joy;
from
Joyness is found,
regardless of what is happening.

A cup of joy,
a cup of happiness,
blend it all together;
A delicious shake of joyness.

But joy rises to the top;
Leaving happiness separated,
a watery solution sitting on the bottom.
So what do you say?
I say, Rejoice!
Rejoice in the Lord;
Always.

Again, I say live joy.

Must circumstances change?
Must music be played?
Must time be right?
Must it?

Circumstances,
circumventing irrelevance.
Confidence,
confiding in contentment.
Joy,
delighting in all.
