Remains.

Form.

Form as function.

Small wheat nodules
lightly frosted,
tumbling
into a bowl.

Covered with milk.
A delectable start
to the day.

Day after day,
the box lightens.

Form as function –
a collision of sorts.

Slipping past larger brothers;
broken crumbs and
loose wheat particles;
Remains of the original,
make their way.

A bowl of cereal –
but a soggy mess
with no appeal.
It has changed.

Function lost in form.

The function adrift
uneaten.

Only functional
if
and
when

The form –

Remains.
