back.

A final word (well, maybe) on sabbatical. Many of us go away or take a short-term missions trip or vacation with purpose or sabbatical.

A good friend sent me this quote by Terry Prachett in his book A Hat Full of Sky. Prachett is a young adult fiction writer. He writes:

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”

Sabbatical was time of going away and coming back.

We see our place with new eyes,
With extra colors.
We are not the same…
