I was reminded recently of a simple three-step process that I’ve used countless times in my life to get clarity and vision and lead. I’ve applied this in our family (no we don’t have family meetings that involve flip charts). I’ve applied it in the local church, non-profit and marketplace business.
It works because it is simple.
It works because it is timeless.
It works because I’m pretty sure I’ve stolen and adapted it from countless others.
It’s what I call Triple D Leadership.
Define current reality.
Dream of what could be.
Design a strategy of change.
I could give you more, but you’re smart. Figure it out. Ask the questions:
Where are we? <Define>
Where do we want to be? <Dream>
How do we get there? <Design>
Now go be the change you want to see.
